I’m a writer and editor who specializes in commercial and industrial construction and related industries, including hydro and public power.
Whether you’re looking for an editor to ensure all text is grammatically correct and clearly written or a writer to deliver engaging content that draws in readers, I have a proven track record of delivering high-quality content within deadline and to all specifications. My focus on construction started in college with an internship at Hanley Wood publications for Builder Magazine. Shortly after graduating with a degree in mass communications focusing on print journalism, I began working with Construction Executive, published by Associated Builders and Contractors. Beginning as staff writer, I later was promoted to assistant editor. During this time, I won a Tabbie Award in 2012 for “Conquering New Territory” which placed in the Top 25 Features category.
In early 2014, I left Construction Executive for a short time to pursue my dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail. Six months and 2,185.3-miles later, I reached Mount Katahdin in Maine and completed my “thru-hike.” Read about my experience here.
Once the hike was complete, I began freelancing full time to continue my love of journalism. In the first year, I grew my business significantly, acquiring many return clients and producing a variety of article contributions for publications related to the outdoors, construction, fitness, the Hudson Valley and more. I also was thankful to return to the construction industry as a freelance digital editor working again with Construction Executive.
I have continued to focus on the commercial and industrial construction industry, primarily editing Construction Executive‘s weekly enewsletter, CE This Week, since 2015.
