February: Case Studies, Reports and Articles

Though February was slow overall, I participated in a few fun and interesting projects.

  • Prepared content for publication in pavement-related trade magazine.
  • Case study about a pavement rehabilitation project using innovative concrete technology that improves traction, reducing accidents during winter and rainy weather.
  • Transitioning a technical report on all the wins by a pavement association to prepare it for layout.
  • Article on ways utilities are communicating about lithium-ion batteries.

Key Takeaway

It’s always exciting when my personal and professional lives collide. I was assigned an article about safety with lithium-ion batteries this month.

My utility company is working to build a controversial battery storage center in my small town. Before this article, I would not have known the implications of such a facility. Now, I feel more educated to take a position for or against it.

Being a freelance writer means I gain all kinds of new knowledge all the time and I LOVE it. Sometimes it’s useless, other times it helps me make an informed decision about my community. At the very least, it makes for interesting small talk.
