March: Writing, Writing and More Writing

Freelancing kept me on my toes in March. I was lucky to continue working with established clients (including one from years ago) and landed a few new ones! Stay tuned for some fun new projects in the coming months. Here’s what I was up to this month.

  • Wrote a tribute article about an environmentalist who worked with aggregate companies to rehabilitate mining sites.
  • Wrote an article for a new-to-me publication about the benefits of involving all trade contractors in layout during preconstruction.
  • Wrote a case study about a trade contractor leveraging tech as a competitive advantage.
  • Wrote a blog post about the launch of a very impressive product in the robotic construction space.
  • Worked on odds and ends for various clients, like eblasts and article rewrites.

Key Takeaway

Persistance pays off. I was thinking of a “plan B” after two slow months of freelancing. With a lot of work from existing clients and the addition of a few new clients this month, I’m confident transitioning back to freelance life was the right move.

I also joined a coworking space, hoping that a financial investment in productivity will help me be able to take on more work in the long run.
